Our WISE Greater Orlando Member of the Month is Emily Moak, Chair of the WISE Greater Orlando Sponsorship Committee and (currently) a stay at home mom. Emily loves being a part of WISE because it has given her a chance to foster new relationships within the industry while also providing a place to reunite with colleagues and friends she's made throughout her career.  She feels connected to the Greater Orlando sports and events industry through WISE, and enjoys staying up to date on our latest facilities, partners, events and other happenings.. • Why I decided to be a board/committee member of WISE Greater Orlando…

  • I decided to be a committee member of WISE for the chance to give back to an industry that I am passionate about.  I’ve had a lot of wonderful people support me as I developed in my career, and by being a chair and supporting the growth of our WISE Greater Orlando chapter,  I feel I am part of a team that is making a big positive impact on other professionals.

• The most rewarding aspect at your current role…

  • The most rewarding part of my ‘current role’ is seeing the world through a child.  Watching trains, a bubble machine, and recycle day all hold great excitement these days and it is lovely to find joy in these simple moments.

• Best career advice I have received…

  • It’s not about who you know, it’s about who knows you.  

  • Work hard.  Foster small connections within relationships.  Be memorable for both of those things.

  • Stepping away from your career to raise your family doesn’t have to mean your career is over.

• Best memory I’ve created in the past year…

  • Making the last minute decision to rent the minivan and drive up to Michigan to spend a white Christmas with family.

• In my free time, I’m…

  • Finding outdoor fun with my family, or at a Lionel Richie concert!

  • People who find balance in their life.
