Our WISE Greater Orlando Member of the Month is Lindsey McBride, Senior Director of Business Development and Events at the Greater Orlando Sports Commission. Lindsey loves being a part of WISE for the chance to meet and learn from so many wonderful women in the industry, as well as the amazing networking opportunities. Being on the WISE Membership Committee has taken it a step further in that she's become friends with other committee members and enjoys helping to shape our local chapter. The most rewarding aspect at your current role…
    • I love to see firsthand how an event that I helped bring to the region impacts not only our local stakeholders, but how the participants and their families and friends enjoy the experience. 

 

Best career advice I have received…
    • Become a lifelong learner. You can continue to learn no matter what stage of your career you are in. When you learn continuously, you can gain more skills and become flexible and adaptable in your career path. Possessing a willingness to learn is an attribute that is highly valued in today's workforce. I quit social media three years ago and instead, immerse myself in reading the news, what’s going on in the world and learning new skills or software.

Best memory I’ve created in the past year…
    • Traveling back home from Hawaii took a bit longer than expected. We were stuck in Los Angeles for two nights, then drove home from Atlanta after a night there. Although it took 4 days to get home amidst some airline issues, we ended up extending our vacation and had some cool experiences.

 

In my free time, I’m…
    • With family or friends whenever possible. I love to play golf, watch football and take vacations to cool new locations.

 

I’m inspired by…
    • My friends and family. I am so lucky to be surrounded but an amazing group of people that are always supportive.
