April 2022 was the first official Member Month for WISE Greater Orlando, and we are so proud to announce that 49 new members joined our chapter this month!
As part of our member drive, WISE Greater Orlando reached out to a number of new sports and events organizations across Greater Orlando to inform them about the organization and share details about members.
Our membership committee was out in the community, speaking to students at UCF as well as hosting two virtual informational sessions for potential members. As an added incentive, new members that joined during the month of April received a WISE Greater Orlando Corkcicle tumbler. As a result, we now have our first members from Sommer Sports, City Year Orlando, Alliance Fastpitch, and AAU.
WISE Greater Orlando also includes members from all major sports organizations in the area including Greater Orlando Sports Commission, ESPN Wide World of Sports, Orlando City Soccer Club and Orlando Pride, Orlando Magic, NASCAR, USTA, AdventHealth and Orlando Health.
"With 150 members and over 40 companies represented, WISE Greater Orlando continues to grow and serve as the authoritative organization to connect and educate women in sports and events," said Katie Miller, President of the WISE Greater Orlando Chapter. "We are beyond excited to welcome our newest members to the organization. They join a powerhouse of professionals, executives, students and companies across Greater Orlando who are focused on growing and developing women in sports and events."
To close out Member Month, we hosted our best attended Member Meet Up yet, with more than 50 members in attendance! Thanks to our sponsor Skirt Sports, all attendees received a free athletic skirt.
A huge thank you to all of our members, from those who have been with us since the beginning to those who have just joined us! We look forward to continuing to bring women in sports throughout Greater Orlando together, for the benefit of everyone.
