Member Spotlight (March) - Kelly Day

Our WISE Greater Orlando Member of the Month is Kelly Day, General Manager at ESPN Wide World of Sports. Kelly loves being part of WISE Greater Orlando because it is a great opportunity to create new relationships with fellow professionals in the sports industry as well as the development opportunities provided by the Greater Orlando WISE Chapter. Get to know Kelly below!

Why I decided to be a board member/committee member of WISE Greater Orlando...
  • I initially signed up as a Chair for our Events Committee to help launch our chapter, because each year I look for an opportunity to “pay it forward” and this organization - with a mission to help grow and develop women in the sports and events industries - is near and dear to my heart.  There are so many amazing women working in sports and events in our community, and it is such an honor to be a small part of bringing everyone together.

The most rewarding aspect at your current role...
  • Having the opportunity to help develop leaders along their career path so they can find their true passion and potential.

Best career advice I have received...

  • Always assume good intent.

Best memory I’ve created in the past year...
  • After not being able to see my family in 2020 I took full advantage of being able to travel.  I was able to meet my parents and brothers at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City for the Chargers vs Chiefs game in September and feel the excitement of live sports again.  Nothing can replace being surrounded by 76,000 fans and literally riding the waves of emotion that come with close games.

In my free time, I’m…
  • Either watching sports, working out, or traveling around the country to see family and friends.

I’m inspired by…
  • I’ve always been inspired by Pat Summitt, the legendary University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach, who was a trailblazer in the sport but also a leader whose impact extended well beyond the court.  She taught her players and staff the importance of holding yourself to high standards through her rules for success known as “Definite Dozen.”
